Section 57 — Immigration Act 2009: Applications for visas

57 Applications for visas (1) An application for a visa must be made in the manner prescribed for the class or type of visa sought. (2) The applicant must specify in the application a physical address to which any communication relating to the application, or to which advice of any visa that may be granted pursuant to the application, may be sent, or at which any notice may be served under this Act. (3) An applicant for or holder of a visa may at any time, by written notice to an immigration officer, substitute a different address for that specified under subsection (2). (4) An applicant for a visa may also specify in an application an electronic address to which any communication relating to the application, or to which advice of any visa that may be granted pursuant to the application, may be sent (and may substitute a different address by written notice to an immigration officer).
