Section 75 — Immigration Act 2009: Former New Zealand citizens deemed to hold resident visa

75 Former New Zealand citizens deemed to hold resident visa (1) This section applies to a person in New Zealand who— (a) renounces his or her New Zealand citizenship; or (b) is deprived of his or her New Zealand citizenship. (2) The person is deemed, from the date of renouncing, or being deprived of, his or her citizenship, to hold a resident visa— (a) permitting the person to stay in New Zealand; and (b) subject to any conditions specified in residence instructions certified for the purposes of this section at the time the person renounced or was deprived of his or her citizenship.
