1 Term of office of members (1) Every member of the Tribunal holds office for such period not exceeding 5 years as is fixed in the member’s warrant of appointment. (2) A member of the Tribunal may be reappointed. (3) Any member of the Tribunal who is not a District Court Judge may at any time be removed from office by the Governor-General for disability affecting the performance of his or her duties, bankruptcy, neglect of duty, or misconduct, proved to the satisfaction of the Governor-General. (4) A member of the Tribunal may at any time resign the office by notice in writing to the Governor-General. (5) Despite the expiry of the term of office of a member of the Tribunal, or the member’s resignation, the member is deemed to continue as a member of the Tribunal for the purpose of deciding any matter that was wholly heard before the expiry of the term of office or before the resignation took effect.
