“ 55B Offenders released early remain offenders under New Zealand law The following apply to an offender released and deported under sections 55 and 55A: “ (a) his or her sentence continues to run; and “ (b) he or she is liable to resume serving the sentence if he or she returns to New Zealand before the sentence expiry date. ”
