340 Purpose of this part The purpose of this Part is to ensure that, despite the repeal of the 1998 Act and the 2000 Act, the orderly transition from the competitive provision of workplace accident insurance continues and, in particular, that— (a) claimants who suffer personal injury to which an accident insurance contract under the 1998 Act applies continue to have access to cover and entitlements; and (b) all persons who should be contributing to the cost of claims to which an accident insurance contract applies do so; and (c) the infrastructure and powers connected with the competitive provision of workplace accident insurance continue in place as appropriate.
