Section 44 — Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act 2001: Approval of draft Code by Minister

44 Approval of draft Code by Minister (1) After considering the report and making any amendments (whether recommended or not) to the draft Code, the Minister must,— (a) by notice in the Gazette , approve the Code; and (b) present the Code to the House of Representatives within 12 sitting days after approving the Code; and (c) arrange for the approval of the Code to be notified in daily newspapers published in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. (2) A notice given under subsection (1)(c) must state where copies of the Code may be obtained. (3) The Code comes into force— (a) on the date specified for that purpose in the Code, being a date after the date on which the Code is approved; or (b) if no such date is specified, the day after the date on which the Code is approved.
