53 Election for purposes of clause 52 (1) A claimant must make an election under clause 52(5) or (8) within the period that is the later of the following: (a) within 1 month before the date on which the election would take effect; or (b) within 1 month after the claimant has been notified of the amount of the weekly compensation by the Corporation, the reviewer, or a District Court, whichever is applicable in the claimant's case. (2) The Corporation may allow a claimant to exercise or revoke an election under clause 52(5) or (8) after the period specified in subclause (1) has ended, but only if the Corporation is satisfied that the claimant's circumstances have changed significantly since the end of the period.
