Section 42 — Land Transfer Act 1952: Informal instruments not to be registered

42 Informal instruments not to be registered No Registrar shall register any instrument purporting to transfer or otherwise to deal with or affect any estate or interest in land under the provisions of this Act, except in the manner herein provided, or as provided in any other Act authorising the registration of the instrument under this Act, nor unless the instrument is in accordance with the provisions of this Act or of that other Act, as the case may be. Compare: 1915 No 35 s 39 Section 42 was amended, as from 7 October 1966, by section 4 Land Transfer Amendment Act 1966 (1966 No 37) by substituting the words “ or as provided in any other Act authorising the registration of the instrument under this Act, nor unless the instrument is in accordance with the provisions of this Act or of that other Act, as the case may be ” for the words “ nor unless the instrument is in accordance with the provisions hereof ” .
