Section 29B — Official Information Act 1982: Consultation with Privacy Commissioner

29B Consultation with Privacy Commissioner Where an Ombudsman investigates a complaint made under section 28 of this Act in relation to a refusal to make official information available in reliance on section 9(2)(a) of this Act, the Ombudsman shall, before forming a final opinion under section 30 of this Act in relation to the merits of refusing that request on that ground, consult with the Privacy Commissioner under the Privacy Act 1993 . This section was inserted, as from 1 July 1993, by section 8 Official Information Amendment Act 1993 (1993 No 36).
