Section 76 — Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987: Transitional provisions

76 Transitional provisions (1) Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this Act, nothing in section 7 or section 17 or section 23 of this Act shall entitle an employee to take any parental leave under this Act in respect of a child the expected date of delivery of whom is before the 1st day of January 1988. (2) Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary in this Act, nothing in section 8 or section 18 or section 24 of this Act shall entitle an employee to take any parental leave under this Act in respect of a child of whom the employee assumed care before the 1st day of January 1988 with a view to adoption by that employee or by that employee and that employee's spouse jointly.
