Section 178 — Privacy Act 2020: Information matching agreements

178 Information matching agreements (1) Personal information held by an agency may be disclosed to another agency under an authorised information matching programme only in accordance with a written agreement that— (a) is entered into between the agencies; and (b) includes provisions that reflect the information matching rules, or provisions that are no less onerous than those rules. (2) An agreement may provide that the agencies involved in the authorised information matching programme may charge each other fees for the services provided for the purposes of the programme. (3) The parties to an agreement entered into under this section must ensure that a copy of the agreement, and of any amendments subsequently made to the agreement, are immediately forwarded to the Commissioner.
