Section 184 — Privacy Act 2020: Reports on information matching provisions

184 Reports on information matching provisions (1) The Commissioner must, at 5-yearly intervals,— (a) review the operation of every information matching provision and consider, in particular, whether— (i) the authority conferred by the information matching provision should be continued; and (ii) any amendments to the provision are necessary or desirable; and (b) report the result of the review to the responsible Minister. (2) The first report of an information matching provision under this section is due not later than— (a) 5 years after the date of the last report prepared in respect of that information matching provision by the Commissioner under section 106 of the Privacy Act 1993; or (b) 5 years after the commencement of this section, if no previous report has been prepared in respect of that information matching provision by the Commissioner.
