Section 207 — Privacy Act 2020: Commissioner may share information with overseas privacy enforcement authority

207 Commissioner may share information with overseas privacy enforcement authority (1) The Commissioner may provide to an overseas privacy enforcement authority any information, or a copy of any document, that the Commissioner— (a) holds in relation to the performance or exercise of the Commissioner’s functions, duties, or powers under this Act (including under section 86 or 87 ) or any other enactment; and (b) considers may— (i) assist the authority in the performance or exercise of the authority’s functions, duties, or powers under or in relation to any enactment; or (ii) enable the authority to reciprocate with the provision of other related information that will assist the Commissioner in the performance or exercise of the Commissioner’s functions, duties, or powers under this Act or any other enactment. (2) The Commissioner may impose any conditions that the Commissioner considers appropriate in relation to the provision of any information or copy of any document under subsection (1), including conditions related to— (a) the storage and use of, or access to, anything provided: (b) the copying, return, or disposal of copies of any documents provided. (3) This section overrides section 206(1) .
