Section 80 — Privacy Act 2020: Commencing investigation

80 Commencing investigation (1) As the first step of an investigation, the Commissioner must notify the respondent that the Commissioner is commencing an investigation. (2) A notice given under subsection (1) must set out— (a) the details of— (i) the complaint; or (ii) the subject of the investigation; and (b) the right to provide, within a reasonable time, a written response to the Commissioner.
