Section Sch1-7 — Privacy Act 2020: Complaints

7 Complaints (1) A complaint made before the commencement day under the Privacy Act 1993 that has not been resolved or otherwise dealt with by the Commissioner must be resolved or otherwise dealt with by the Commissioner under the procedures in this Act, even though the action that is the subject of the complaint occurred before that day. (2) A complaint made after the commencement day under this Act that relates to an action that occurred before the commencement day must be resolved or otherwise dealt with by the Commissioner under the procedures in this Act. (3) Any decision made, or thing done, by the Commissioner under the Privacy Act 1993 in relation to a complaint that before the commencement day was not the subject of an investigation must be treated as if it had been made or done under this Act.
