1 Certain dealings in land not valid unless made by deed (1) No partition, exchange, lease, assignment, or surrender of land is valid unless it is made by deed. (2) However, subclause (1) does not apply to— (a) short-term leases; or (b) assignments or surrenders by operation of law. Compare: 1952 No 51 s 10
