Section 1 — Property (Relationships) Act 1976: Short Title and commencement

1 Short Title and commencement (1) This Act may be cited as the Property (Relationships) Act 1976. (2) This Act shall come into force on the 1st day of February 1977. The short title of this Act was amended, as from 1 February 2002, by section 5(2) Property (Relationships) Amendment Act 2001 (2001 No 5) by substituting the words “ Property (Relationships) ” for the words “ Matrimonial Property ” . See Part 9 of this Act as to the transitional and saving provisions.
