Section 126 — Residential Tenancies Act 1986: Annual report

126 Annual report (1) The chief executive shall, as soon as practicable after the 30th day of June in each year, submit to the Minister a report on the administration of this Act during the year ending on that day; and shall include that report in the annual report of the Ministry of Housing prepared pursuant to section 43 of the Public Finance Act 1989 . (2) The report shall show separately— (a) The audited consolidated financial statements for the Residential Tenancies Trust Account for the year to which the report relates, consisting of such statements as may be necessary to show the financial position of that Account and the financial results of the operation of the Account during that year; and (b) The auditor's report on those financial statements. Section 126 was substituted, as from 18 August 1992, by section 13 Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 1992 (1992 No 79). See section 13(2) and (3) Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 1992 (1992 No 79) which provides that section 126 (as in force before the commencement of this section) is deemed to have been amended as from 31 March 1989 by omitting the expression “ 31st day of March ” and substituting the expression “ 30th day of June, ” and applies in relation to the year ended 30 June 1992. See section 13(4) Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 1992 (1992 No 79) which provides: “ (4) The Director-General shall prepare a report on the administration of the principal Act in respect of any part of the year ending on the 30th day of June 1993 during which the Director-General was responsible for the administration of the Act and the report shall be included in the annual report of the Corporation prepared pursuant to section 41 of the Housing Corporation Act 1974. ” Subsection (1) was amended, as from 25 January 2005, by section 37(1) Public Finance Amendment Act 2004 (2004 No 113) by substituting the words “ section 43 of the Public Finance Act 1989 ” for the words “ the State Sector Act 1988 ” . Subsection (2) was substituted, as from 1 May 1996, by section 47 Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 1996 (1996 No 7).
