277 Hearings and evidence generally to be public (1) All hearings of the Environment Court shall be held in public except as provided in subsection (2) . (2) The Environment Court may— (a) Order that any evidence be heard in private: (b) Prohibit or restrict the publication of any evidence—
if it considers that the reasons for doing so outweigh the public interest in a public hearing and publication of evidence. The words “ Environment Court ” in subsections (1) and (2) were substituted, as from 2 September 1996, for the words “ Planning Tribunal ” pursuant to section 6(2)(a) Resource Management Amendment Act 1996 (1996 No 160).
