Section 57 — Resource Management Act 1991: Preparation of New Zealand coastal policy statements

57 Preparation of New Zealand coastal policy statements (1) There shall at all times be at least one New Zealand coastal policy statement prepared and recommended by the Minister of Conservation using 1 of the processes referred to in section 46A(1) , as if references in sections 46 to 52 to the Minister were references to the Minister of Conservation and references to a national policy statement were references to a New Zealand coastal policy statement. (2) Sections 53 , 54 , and 55 , with all necessary modifications, apply to a New Zealand coastal policy statement as if it were a national policy statement and as if references in those sections to the Minister were references to the Minister of Conservation. Subsection (1) was amended, as from 10 August 2005, by section 36 Resource Management Amendment Act 2005 (2005 No 87) by substituting the words “ using 1 of the processes referred to in section 46A(1), as if references in sections 46 to 52 ” for the words “ in the manner set out in sections 46 to 52 as if references in those sections ” . See sections 131 to 135 of that Act as to the transitional provisions.
