17 Question of foreign law must be decided by High Court Judge (1) A question about the effect of evidence of a foreign law that arises in a civil or criminal proceeding that is tried by a High Court Judge with a jury must be decided by the Judge alone. (2) This section overrides section 16 . Compare: 1908 No 89 s 19C
