Section 83 — Senior Courts Act 2016: Presiding Judge

83 Presiding Judge (1) The Chief Justice presides over the Supreme Court. (2) If the Chief Justice is absent, or the office of Chief Justice is vacant, the most senior available Judge of the Supreme Court presides over the court. (3) The fact that a Judge of the Supreme Court other than the Chief Justice presides over the court is conclusive proof of the Judge’s authority to do so. No action of the Judge, and no judgment or decision of the court, may be questioned on the ground that the occasion for the Judge to preside over the court had not arisen or had ceased.
