136 Offender must not acquire new interest in motor vehicle for 12 months (1) This section applies if— (a) a court makes an order for the confiscation of a motor vehicle under section 128 or section 129 ; or (b) a court has made an order under section 131(2)(a) prohibiting an offender from acquiring a motor vehicle for 12 months. (2) The offender must not, within 12 months after the date of the order, acquire any interest in any motor vehicle. (3) A person commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $500 who acquires any interest in a motor vehicle in contravention of subsection (2) . (4) If a court convicts a person of an offence against this section, the court may, instead of, or in addition to, imposing a fine, order the confiscation of the motor vehicle concerned. (5) If a court orders the confiscation of a motor vehicle under subsection (4) , sections 130 to 135 , this section, and sections 137 to 142 apply accordingly. Compare: 1985 No 120 s 85
