Section 160 — Sentencing Act 2002: Person under 17 years of age imprisoned

160 Person under 17 years of age imprisoned (1) This section applies if, immediately before the commencement date,— (a) an offender was subject to a sentence of imprisonment imposed for any offence other than a purely indictable offence within the meaning of section 18 ; and (b) at the time of the commission of that offence the offender had not attained the age of 17 years. (2) The offender continues to be subject to the sentence despite the fact that at the time of the commission of the offence the offender had not attained the age of 17 years. (3) Nothing in section 143(2) applies in respect of the offender.
