Section 172 — Sentencing Act 2002: Probation officers

172 Probation officers (1) Section 124 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985 is amended by adding to subsection (1) the words “ or any other enactment ” . (2) Section 124 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985 is amended by repealing subsection (3A) , and substituting the following subsection: “ (3A) The Secretary may designate persons appointed under this section to manage or work at 1 or more community work centres within any probation area. ” (3) Section 124 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985 is amended by adding the following subsection: “ (7) In this section and in sections 125 and 127, probation area has the same meaning as in section 4(1) of the Sentencing Act 2002. ”
