93 Funeral grant: eligibility if deceased person is child A deceased person meets the criteria in this section if— (a) the person is a child; and (b) the person’s funeral expenses cannot be paid from the total of— (i) the deceased person’s assessable estate before the payment of any other debts; and (ii) the combined assets, other than non-assessable assets, of the person’s parents, or of any other person or persons, who were liable in law to maintain the deceased person on the date of death in excess of the amount in clause 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 5 ; and (c) the combined annual income of the person’s parents, or any other person or persons, who were liable in law to maintain the deceased child on the date of death is less than 52 times the appropriate amount in Part 2 of Schedule 5 .
