97 Temporary additional support: refusal, reduction, or cancellation of grant in certain circumstances (1) This section applies in respect of an applicant for temporary additional support if MSD is at any time satisfied that a person who is the applicant, or the applicant’s spouse or partner, has— (a) arranged that person’s financial affairs in order to qualify for temporary additional support; or (b) failed to take reasonable steps to reduce that person’s costs or increase that person’s chargeable income; or (c) failed to take all necessary steps to obtain any assistance towards that person’s essential costs from any other source from which that person may be entitled to assistance. (2) If this section applies, MSD may— (a) refuse to grant temporary additional support; or (b) grant temporary additional support at a reduced rate; or (c) reduce the rate of temporary additional support already granted; or (d) cancel any temporary additional support already granted.
