Section 177 — Road Traffic Act 1988: Impersonation of authorised examiner, etc.

Impersonation of authorised examiner, etc. 177 A person is guilty of an offence if, with intent to deceive, he falsely represents himself—

a to be, or to be employed by, a person authorised in accordance with regulations made under section 41 of this Act with respect to the checking and sealing of speed limiters, or b to be a person entitled under section 45 of this Act to carry out examinations of vehicles under that section.
