Offence if information not provided 117K 1 A person commits an offence if he fails to comply with—

a section 117J(2) and (3), or b section 117J(4).

2 A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) may be ordered by a judge of the ... county court to pay a fine of not more than £250 or to be imprisoned for not more than 14 days.

3 Where under subsection (2) a person is ordered to be imprisoned by a judge of the ... county court, a judge of the county court may at any time—

a revoke the order, and b if the person is already in custody, order his discharge.

4 Section 129 of this Act (enforcement of fines) applies to payment of a fine imposed under subsection (2).

5 For the purposes of section 13 of the Administration of Justice Act 1960 (appeal in cases of contempt of court), subsection (2) is to be treated as an enactment enabling the county court to deal with an offence under subsection (1) as if it were a contempt of court. 6 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
