Section 167 — Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992: Interpretation and other supplementary provisions.

Interpretation and other supplementary provisions. 167 1 Part X of the Employment Rights Act 1996 (unfair dismissal) has effect subject to the provisions of sections 152 to 166 above.

2 Those sections shall be construed as one with that Part;

and in those sections— “ complaint of unfair dismissal ” means a complaint under section 111 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 ; “ award of compensation for unfair dismissal ” means an award of compensation for unfair dismissal under section 112(4) or 117(3)(a) of that Act; and “ order for reinstatement or re-engagement ” means an order for reinstatement or re-engagement under section 113 of that Act.

3 Nothing in those sections shall be construed as conferring a right to complain of unfair dismissal from employment of a description to which that Part does not otherwise apply.
