Section 71.08 — Access to Information Act: Definition of head of a parliamentary entity

In sections 71.09 to 71.11, head of a parliamentary entity means in respect of any administrative unit of the Senate — including a business sector, an operational division or a directorate — the person or committee that the Senate, by its rules or orders, designates; in respect of the office of the Senate Ethics Officer, the Speaker of the Senate; in respect of any administrative unit of the House of Commons, the Speaker of the House of Commons; in respect of the office of the Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner, the Speaker of the House of Commons; in respect of the Library of Parliament, the Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Commons, jointly; in respect of the Parliamentary Protective Service, the Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Commons, jointly;

and in respect of the office of the Parliamentary Budget Officer, the Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Commons, jointly.
