Section 60.1 — Controlled Drugs and Substances Act: Schedule V

The Minister may, by order, add to Schedule V any item or portion of an item for a period of up to one year, or extend that period by up to another year, if the Minister has reasonable grounds to believe that it poses a significant risk to public health or safety; or may pose a risk to public health or safety and is being imported into Canada with no legitimate purpose, or is being distributed in Canada with no legitimate purpose. The Minister may, by order, delete any item or portion of an item from Schedule V. In making an order under subsection (1) or (2), the Minister may take into account any relevant information provided by the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. An item or portion of an item is deleted from Schedule V on the earliest of the day specified in an order made under subsection (2) in relation to that item or portion of an item, the beginning of the day on which that item or portion of an item is added to any of Schedules I to IV and VI, and the end of the period set out for the item in question.
