Section 340 — Criminal Code: Destroying documents of title

Every person is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term of not more than 10 years or is guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction who, for a fraudulent purpose, destroys, cancels, conceals or obliterates a document of title to goods or lands, a valuable security or testamentary instrument, or a judicial or official document.
